The Lima Fire Department trains twice a month
on various life saving tasks so that we are better prepared
to help you, and our community, in your time of need.
Interior Drill
Pictured are members of the Lima Fire Department conducting
interior firefighter training. The interior firefighters
are performing search and rescue opeations, simulating
a firefighter that as been trapped while fighting a
fire. The nomex hoods that are covering the firefighter's
masks prevent them from seeing where they are going
during the search to closer simulate a smoke filled
building.

Monthly Drill
The members of the Lima Fire Department conducted their
monthly drill (September 2013) at Elim Bible College
in Lima. They set up a pumper drafting from the pond
and supplied the ladder truck with water for water tower
operations. Monthly drills are held to make sure that
all of our firefighters are proficient in the tasks
that are needed to safely and effectively do our jobs.

Ladder Bail Out Training
The members of the Lima Fire Department went to the
Lakeville, NY training tower to conduct ladder bail
out training. This is a life saving skill that our interior
firefighters need to practice so that they can exit
a building quickly if conditions make interior firefighting
extremely dangerous.
